"Neighbors" by Raymond Carver

I also enjoyed reading this story. The couple in the story seem like ordinary people who sometimes wishes that they were other people. So desperate to become someone else that it seems to consume them. There are part of the story that were a little disturbing like when Bill tried on both Harriet's and Jim's clothing but it showed just how unhappy Bill was with his own life and with who he was. It was sad that they were so unhappy with who they were they had to go into their neighbor's apartment and pretend they were someone else. At the end of the story when the door was lock and they had left the key inside you tell by way the writer described their actions that they felt like all was lost to them.
